I met you today at Logan Airport. I was the guy who was working at the cab stand. Thanks for taking the time to speak with me about guitars. I'm 54 years young and learning to play Guitar. This is a great website and I plan to visit it again, maybe I can pickup some pointers. I will definitely try to catch one of your shows if I have the opportunity. Thanks Again

I saw you in Larchmont yesterday (with my wife, sister and brother-in-law). We were entranced as always. Your two somgs "City Lights" and "Best of Friends" always make well up a bit. I'm a so-so guitarist and have found it difficult to figure these songs out. I would particularly like to play "Best of Friends" for my wife, but I can't seem to figure out the chords (much less the finger picking.) Are the tabs available published somewhere ? And, by the way -- you expressed great admiration for Rodgers and Hammerstein -- I love their music too -- but I will tell you that in my opinion, these two songs of yours are right up there with those greats. Sincerely,

Liv, It seems like a lifetime since you have visited Pittsburgh! Please make plans to include us somtime in the summer of 2009. I don't know if you'll remember, but you once gave me an autograph on the only paper I had available - my checkbook - and you wrote me a check for a million dollars. What an enjoyable evening! I'll definitely check out your new CD. Hope to see you soon!

Thanks so much for a wonderful concert last night at the Natick Organic Farm fundraiser. Of course I always love all your original songs and the showtunes you chose were some of my favorites - The Trolley Song, I Have Dreamed, and Somewhere Over The Rainbow ! Been listening to your CD Snapshots today. Hope you do another CD of a recording from a live concert soon - your magical rapport with the audience comes across even on the CD! And we can 'take you home' :) Thanks again,

Your performance in Carlisle on Saturday evening was superb! It was the first time I've seen you perform and I could kick myself for not going to one of your earlier concerts in my area. I will definitely make a point to see every one of them in the future. It was so clear that you thoroughly enjoy what you do--and you do it so well! But beyond your musical abilities, I left the theater being very impressed with you as a person. I've never before seen a performer so willing to engage with the audience on a truly personal level. You are one of a kind, Mr. Taylor, and I am recommending your shows to all of my friends. Thanks for a very special evening.

I have been a huge fan of yours for years. Times have been tough for many lately, including me. I just finished listening to your song, 'Life is Good'. I think that one song gave me the inspiration to pick myself up and get going again. Thanks for the songs and years of sharing your brilliant talent with us. You are an inspiration!!! I saw your show with James at Harvard Stadium what seems to be many years ago, but it was the most beautiful night of the summer and it was held in the end zone of the football field. I have to say it was one of the best concerts I have attended. Your voice is magical and soothing and I hope to see you perform in Natick, MA. (I just heard about it so I pray there are still tickets left).

Have loved every concert of yours that I've been to. Usually see you at the Ark in Ann Arbor, Mi. Do you plan to return to Michigan any time in the near future. Also I purchased one of your books many years ago for my hubby, and would love to get a few more. Are they truly out of print now? Or do you have a few stashed away you'd sell to me? I think the name of it was "Live Performance"!!?

I moved here 3 years ago from Philadelphia PA suburbs and I miss being able to see you in concert. I love your stories and humor. I love your voice. Most of us had a horrific financial week living through the "crash." However, seeing Liv perform on Friday night, l0/10/08, was balm for wounded souls. All those heartfelt songs, lots of them at the piano this time, felt like hearing a beloved relative after a long absence. Liv came in with his usual sweater, sat down by an imaginary fire, and with his soothing pitch and grace made it seem that everything was going to be all right!

All through the years, as my children grew, it was tradition for the family to catch Livingston Taylor at least once each summer at some local event. I'm sure my kids couldn't even tell you how many times in their lives they have seen you perform. Now they are grown and it has been a few years since I have seen you, so my daughter gave me a surprise birthday gift by taking me to your show at the Firehouse Center in Newburyport last night! What a great show. For me, it it was made even better by singing "City Lights" with you! Some day I hope to get up there with you without my typical stage fright... but what a blast it was. Thank you for your graciousness and for all the pure entertainment you have provided me and my family throughout the years. Forever a fan,

The last few times we have seen you, we have missed your banjo playing. I know we will love your show, as we always do, but hope sometime you decide to bring your banjo back. Thanks!

Dear Livingston, I took your Stage Performance class at Berklee in the fall of 2003. I am now living in Los Angeles, beginning my career as a rock vocalist. It is absolutely clear to me that your class was the most beneficial and valuable I took at Berklee. I remember your words and advice not only every time I hit the stage, but also as I experience every day "normal" life...a positive influence, indeed.
I've also been enjoying the youtube videos of you speaking on the BPC stage. In addition to the 2003 class notes I've saved, they are a strong, inspiring reminder of how much I learned from you. And of course, I can't forget the most exciting day of my years as a Berklee student: when your brother James came to our class. Thanks for all you do, and I hope to see you again in the future. Your friend,

I helped discover your brother, James, back in 1968, thanks to a review by the LA Free Press. I kept telling everyone in my high school who would listen that he would be famous someday. I've seen him six times, but have yet to see you perform. When are you coming out to California again? I have your greatest hits CD, fortunately.

My wife and I saw you perform in Tokyo back in '92. You stopped and talked with us while we waited in line; we were the only non-Japanese people in line. My wife died of cancer the next year. Now her two daughters want to go see you perform in Rutland this November with me. However, it appears to mainly be the Harlem Gospel Choir. Are you performing your music in VT?

My husband and I did not know anything about you until Friday when I was offered tickets to your performance on Saturday night a Anthology in San Diego. We looked you up on the internet and found out that you are JAmes TAylor's brother, of which we are big fans of. We were pleasantly surprised after seeing and hearing you. Lovely voice and wonderful lyrics. You are truly a great entertainer! Can't wait to buy some of your CDs to add to our collection. Hope to see and hear you soon.

Thank you so much for coming to California this past weekend. The only thing equal to the quality and generosity of your performance was the loyalty of the former Massachusetts residents who traveled from Los Angeles and other California locations to San Diego for the Anthology performance; and those who, as I had, added the second show to their experience. A supper club performance is a challenge for a performer, I imagine. In this case, people were so tuned in.....I did not hear a fork drop nor was I ever aware of less than optimal attention to your creative and personal magnetism. Thank you for enhancing California with your generous spirit.

Listening to you on Saturday nite in Kempton, Pa. brought back many memories of your music. More importantly it brought back in me a spirit that I've been lacking for many years. You showed me the pure joy and value of being blessed with God's gift to entertain --- developing, performing and sharing it to it's fullest. I've had many a musical evening in my 53 years and a simple evening with you on hay bales ranks as the absolute best. Thanks for sharing! Respectfully

I would also like to add a comment in reference to the concert in Greenville S.C. You briefly spoke with my nephew, MarQee about his future goals as an aspiring musician. Hello! I was at the Prescott Park concert last night and just wanted to say how nice it was. Your kind of music is so popular around here, as you could probably tell from the multitude of people in the park, and everyone really seemed to enjoy it. Thanks for a great evening--I'm 17 and really looking to get into the music industry, so I appreciate musicians who are good both on and off stage. I would have stopped to talk at the end of the show, but there was a line and the whole family was freezing. :) Have a great rest-of-the-summer!

I met you at the wonderful concert in Portsmouth last night. I loved your take on the old standards, have always loved those songs. And your Grandma's Hands was amazing.

But what was most impressive about last nights concert was how brilliantly you handled the "creeping children". It was so gracious and defused a really rediculous situation! Sometimes I do wonder what parents are thinking. Again, Thank you for a most enjoyable evening.

Hi Liv, Our family first saw you live @ Nantucket High school in 1995. South shore Living Magazine had a picture and announced your concert at the conservatory in their recent issue, which I read about Thursday I quickly called and purchased tickets. Thanks to our gps we found this neet place in Hingham. You were great! We met some old friends and new. We hope to see you again. So now we know your web site we'll check. We were in Nantucket in June, and one of the few pictures we took was me standing in front of the Methodist church. The building is an awsome structure, and I've been a member of UMC for 34 years. I wish we could be there in August. But I'll be @ the Hyannis Sheridan on the 15th for a conference. We flew to nantucket for the first time it was a great flight. See ya soon,

You have been one of my favorite musicians over the years. I grew up in the East and first heard you as a teenager at Drew University in Madison, NJ. My husband and I moved to a small farming community in SE Kansas 16 years ago to pastor a church. My sister gave me your most recent CD and it is a comfort to hear your music and songs. Do you ever travel to the midwest for concerts? I grew up summers in Montauk, Long Island and we still come back every summer, just not this summer. I saw you were having a concert in Chatham, NJ, close to where I grew up. God bless you!

Liv, I was sorry to hear of Artie Traum's passing. That is a huge loss for all of us. What a wonderful man!!! Last year I got to hear him sit in with you at the Woodstock Playhouse and it was one of my favorite shows. He and I were talking before the show and I know how happy he was to join you on stage!!! I was fortunate enough to get a few pictures of you both and wondered if you would like to have any of them. If so drop me an email which is attached to this comment form. Thanks for years of great music and shows!!! I'm looking forward to the next show and CD.

We truly enjoyed your concert in Springfield last night. You won't remember, but you signed our copy of your new CD (cowboy hat, pretty wife and daughter, posed for photo with me). My son and daughter grew up listening to me playing my guitar and singing songs by you and James. My daughter and her boyfreind knew what fans we are so they made sure we knew you were coming in. They're fans too. Anyway, just wanted you to know how much we appreciate your talents and showmanship.

Hey Liv, Remember we sang "City Lights" together at the Congregational Church in Coral Gables (Miami) Fl.? I came by after the sound check and shared with you how I had chickened-out a few years earlier, and you replied , "tonight's your night!" It was a beautiful duet. Thank you for your kindness and I look forward to singing with you again one of these fine days. Stay well.

Hey. I found a beautiful song of Liv's "There you are again", performed live (as a download on his site, which, incidentally I subsequently lost), and it has to be my favourite song of all time. I bought the CD "There you are again", and was so disappointed by the C.D. version of "There you are again". Is it possible someone could put it back on-line, or send me a copy. I'll contact the world and let them know it's out there. Take good care.

My wife and I feel that your Saturday night concert in Lancaster was one of the finest and most enjoyable (of any and all artists) we have ever attended. True, we don't get out much, but the show was honest, sincere, exciting, inspirational, humorous, moving . . . just an amazing experience for us! For me it was the seond time our path's had crossed in almost 40 years, as I had had the good fortune to hear you in late 1970 or early '71 at Kent State University. There were three acts that night and I believe you opened for Cactus, and Emerson, Lake and Palmer. There are several pictures from your set that made the Kent State yearbook that year. I'd be happy to scan them if you'd like them for your archives. We hope to hear you again but much sooner this time. Thanks for an evening we'll never forget.

While doing some yard sales up here in the North country, a home owner was selling their huge collection of LPs. While I was looking through them, imagine my surprise when a huge squeal came out my mouth ( my husband came over to see what was important enough for me to drop my usual sedate decorum ) ...there was your album, Livingston Taylor, circa 1970. I listened to it this morning and I loved it!

Hi Liv, I just came from your Lancaster concert and I had a blast! I haven't laughed so much in a long time, and I relished the experience! Railroad Bill just cracked me up. I have very much enjoyed the work of James all my life and about a year ago went into a Barnes and Noble to buy a few DC's. Without my glasses on I thought I bought a new James recording and only discovered it was your lastest after I slipped it into my car player. What a discovery!! I'm an old music student and you have inspired me to learn to play guitar. My wife and I are planning to attend your performance this coming week in Lancaster, New York. Thanks for sharing your gifts!!

My husband and I loved your recent concert in Holly Springs, NC. The last time I saw you perform was in downtown Chapel Hill in the spring of 1978. You've only gotten better! After you mentioned your book, I tracked it down using our inter-library loan system here in Wake County. To my delight, the copy I received came from UNC-Chapel Hill's library. I really enjoyed your book and wish it were still in print to help other aspiring performers. Have you considered using a print-on-demand service, such as Lulu.com, Blurb or Amazon's Booksurge, to keep your book in print? And, one final memory to share: Last summer (August 2008), my husband and I spent three weeks in Italy. While shopping at the Italian Motor Club's retail store in Milan for road maps, a familiar voice filled the air. James Taylor was singing *You've Got A Friend.* While eating dinner later in a Venice restaurant, N.C. beach music was filling the air. It's funny how music fills your heart and takes you home, no matter where you are.

Hi Livingston, I grew up in Lake Forest (private)and I spent my summers in Door County Wisconsin and my Best friends The "Rentschler Family" spent theirs on the Vineyard. In Manitowoc, WI. you invited my daughter to sing "Heart & Soul" with you on stage. Just came back from visiting her in Arizona and she had the ticket still with her and framed for the show. Was in Washington DC in 1971 and saw you at if my recollection is correct Catholic University and a # of times in Chicago. You are a year ahead of me so I have followed your career for many years and you are a wonderful man and artist. Thanks so much. I am in the battle for and of my life right now and your music sure helps.

I've been to a few of your shows and I love your music. The one thing that I can't figure out is how James has gained such commercial success and the brother with the better voice isn't as well known. Sorry James, Love you too but even though the voices are so similar, Livingston has a quality that in my opinion is a step up. Keep making your beautiful music!
